About us

A 'ricordino' is a little memory or reminder, it can also be a gift or a souvenir.

We make cultural and heritage memories

Ricordino produces artworks, gifts and decorative items that feature images and memories familiar to many people, especially those of Italian cultural heritage and other migrant backgrounds.

Our works feature food, drink, leisure and friendship themes. Our style is bright, colourful and fun.

We create unique prints and painted ceramics

Ricordino specialises in producing hand-crafted lino prints and ceramics.

Being hand-made, no two items are exactly the same. Every hand-made items is unique and maybe not perfect, with variations in items that are produced in a series.

We make most of our artwork by hand

Most of the artwork produced by Ricordino is hand-crafted.

Original lino prints are made using hand-carved lino blocks, hand rolling inks on the blocks, manually placing paper on the inked blocks and pressing paper by hand by using hinge presses. Multi-coloured lino prints are printed one colour at a time, meaning that it takes time to allow a layer of ink to dry before the next layer of ink is applied.

Ceramic pieces are hand-thrown, hand-painted and glazed by hand, then fired at 2 Mayfield Street in Abbotsford.

Reproductions and images used on apparel items and promotional material are copies of original hand-made artworks.

We are based in Melbourne, Australia

Ricordino's studio is based in Collingwood, an inner eastern suburb of Melbourne, Australia.

Most of the items produced by Ricordino are made in Collingwood and neighbouring suburbs of Abbotsford, Richmond and Fitzroy.

We are a collaboration

Ricordino is a collaboration between emerging artist, Loz and her father, Roger.

Loz has been a full-time artist since 2022 after working in visual merchandising, retail and allied health. Loz is Ricordino's creative lead, designing and making lino prints, organising stalls at markets and exhibitions and painting ceramic pieces. She also works in other mediums including oil paints and textiles.

Roger is the ceramics maker and general helper at Ricordino. He retired from professional work in 2023 and took up ceramics.

Loz and Roger share a studio space in Collingwood.

Ricordino aims to collaborate with other emerging artists and makers that have aligned values and complementary styles.
